Boldly Folding Where Others Have Designed Before

Corny title.

I've done stand-up comedy twice in my life, which doesn't sound like much, but it's two times more than most people.

So expect lots of corny titles.  Perhaps even corny works...

Woodchucks
Okay, perhaps a poor example.  That's woodcarving.  And this blog page will be about papercraft.  And it'll be from the viewpoint of someone who builds but doesn't design models.

I've tried to design, but I don't have the computer power or education to pull it off.

But I sure do love to build!

I prefer building to photography.  Well, photographing models, anyway--having to set up a shot, light it properly, etc.  My apartment is small and not particularly well designed for much upheaval.

Of late, I'm trying my best to amass a ridiculously complete set of models from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

I find that the artistic style of this game is the most suited to paper modeling of any I've seen.  A good majority of the characters and props can be greatly simplified while still 'looking right.'

If money (and space!) were no object, I'd love to recreate the halls of 'statues' created from pictographs.  Column-style stands and all.

Then again, if I had that sort of money, it could be much better spent on something practical.  But just dream of it.  Just for fun.  ^_^

Thus far, I have the following characters and props:

Link
Ganondorf
King of the Red Lions
King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule (can someone explain the derivation of that name to me???)
Orca
Tott
Nico
Beedle
Tingle, Ankle, Knuckle and... David Jr.
Salvatore
Koroks - currently numbering five, whose names I cannot specifically recall
Wizzrobe
Armos
crab
pigs
rat
mailbox
hyoi pear
It is IMPOSSIBLE to build a hyoi pear without making that pose of Link's -- shoulders up, head pulled in like a turtle, looking upward over one's head.  IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Oh - Keese - there are always a few that escape me.  No photos of them yet.  Finished the first a couple days ago.  Currently wrapping up Fire Keese.

I think that's all.  :)  "All."  Sheesh!
